Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) - Electrophysiology at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is at the heart of patient care. You will utilize your extensive knowledge of therapeutic patient care, patient advocacy, clinical pathways/care maps, team dynamics, and hospital systems. As a resource for both registered nurses and support staff, you will collaborate with leadership to shape and implement our vibrant culture, Vision, Mission, and goals.
Work Schedule: 7 am 530 pm; 4 days a week. 1 call weekend per 6-week schedule.
Unit Description
Step into the fast-paced world of Electrophysiology, where our team excels in diagnosing and treating heart failure and arrhythmias. Our cutting-edge procedures and technology reduce symptoms of congenital and acquired heart conditions, pushing the boundaries of patient care.
We offer advanced electrophysiology procedures including:
- Ablations
- CardioMEMS heart failure monitoring system
- Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), including biventricular and subcutaneous ICDs
- Loop recorder implantation
- Pacemakers, including biventricular, leadless, lead extractions, lead placements, and battery changes

Minimum Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure/Certifications:
- Current RN licensure in South Carolina
- BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience required.
Preferred Requirements
- Education: BSN preferred.
- Experience: Background in Cath lab, cardiac, telemetry, critical care, OR, interventional radiology, ER, or med/surg is advantageous.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with patients, families, and health care team members to determine patient priorities and treatments.
- Initiate and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration for enhanced outcomes.
- Seek necessary assistance for nursing interventions to ensure positive patient outcomes.
- Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift reports.
- Demonstrate competency with new equipment and procedures.
- Provide clinical guidance to students and ancillary staff.
- Complete hospital and unit-based orientation programs successfully.
- Formulate a plan for professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory requirements.
- Identify appropriate standards of care and collaborative clinical pathways to guide care plans.
- Comply with established policies and procedures.
- Identify the need to develop or revise policies for specialized patient populations and unit practices.
- Serve on unit-based committees.
- Prioritize nursing interventions for assigned patients.
- Assess patients' medical history, admitting diagnosis, physicians orders, and conduct interviews to determine patient needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of professional nursing practice and theory.
- Ensure continuity of care through effective decision-making for quality patient care.
- Document all aspects of patient care following established charting procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
