Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

24 months of Mother/Baby experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a Idaho license or compact license (required after submission).

This role may require floating to additional units and locations

Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Lukes Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Lukes Health System.

Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job youre applying to.

Special Requests:- Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.- Previous employees may be considered on a one-off exception basis with St. Lukes Health System approval.

Required Skills/Experience:- Must have: experience in a similar setting if the traveler only has 1 year of experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:- Magnesium preferred.

Unit Details:- Goal of 3 couplets per nurse or 1:6 ratio; magnesium patients 1:4 ratio; rare occasion to have 4 couplets with a discharge or a set of twins for odd ratios.- Postpartum, magnesium drips, some higher-risk maternal patients for the area, twins, well babies only (otherwise go to NICU), c-section patients (no GYN surgical patients beyond tubals), circumcision, and frenectomy patients.- RNs titrate magnesium and Pitocin per postpartum protocols.- Charge nurse is free of assignment.- CNAs and a unit clerk/health unit coordinator on the unit; days have a discharge nurse to assist with education; lactation consultants available.- Contracted staff perform hearing screens, photography, car seat safety, newborn screenings, and some newborn metabolic screenings.- Locked unit.- Rare telemetry; some moms with cardiac history.- Neonatologist in NICU 24/7 for emergencies; newbornist/APP available 24/7; obstetrics hospitalist available for emergencies; anesthesia in house 24/7.- Uses Epic.

Shift & Scheduling:- Every other weekend or as needed.- Holidays as needed.- No call.- Managers make the schedule; travelers are placed in gaps in the schedule.

Floating Requirements:- Float to the Meridian and Nampa hospitals to take like patient assignments, and may sit with patients on other floors; travelers are first to float and first to sit.

7 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 3 years

Drivers license required for submission

Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support)

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program 8th Edition)

STABLE (Sugar, Temperature, Airway. Blood Pressure, Lab work and Emotional Support)
