Stepdown Registered Nurse Three Rivers, Michigan

Take on a key role as a Registered Nurse in a specialized stepdown unit focused on general medicine and oncology patients. This position calls for a highly skilled professional ready to provide direct, compassionate care while working closely with a supportive team. The assignment is a contract role with flexible scheduling options to help you balance work and life priorities.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling may be availableplease specify preferences

Qualifications:

• Current Michigan RN license
• BLS (AHA) certification
• ONCC or ONS certification required (pending ONS accepted; ONCC must be valid at start)
• Minimum two years experience in PCU or Stepdown nursing
• Proficient in administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs
• Experience with Welch Allyn vital sign towers, Sigma IV pumps, and EPIC for documentation

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive care to general med/oncology stepdown patients
• Administer chemotherapy treatments as per protocols
• Accurately document patient care in EPIC
• Collaborate with interprofessional teams and support staff, especially when nurse-to-patient ratios flex
• Float to other med surg areas such as AU and ER as needed (for med surg patients)
• Adapt to weekend, holiday, and self-scheduling per facility guidelines
• Participate in a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6; adjusted when necessary for patient safety
