Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) in Battle Creek, MI

Schedule & Hours:

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated based on requests
• Self-scheduling available for most shifts
• Must be available the first two weeks of the assignment

Key Qualifications:

• Active Michigan RN License
• Two years recent experience in PCU/Stepdown nursing
• BLS certification (AHA)
• ONCC or ONS certification required; will accept pending ONS, but ONCC must be in hand
• Demonstrated skills in administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs
• Proficient in using Welch Allyn vital sign towers, Sigma IV pumps, and EPIC for documentation

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to stepdown patients, including those receiving chemotherapy
• Monitor, assess, and document patient progress accurately in EPIC
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-6, with additional support staff when needed
• Flexibly float to other medical-surgical areas, including Admission Unit and Emergency Room, to provide care for med surg patients as required
• Coordinate with nurse managers and participate in self-scheduling, ensuring shift and weekend coverage
