ResponsibilitiesThe Personal Care Attendant (PCA) provides hands-on personal care and supportive services to PACE participants in their homes and community settings. The PCA supports participants with activities of daily living while promoting safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life under the direction of the PACE interdisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist participants with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility
Provide assistance with transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices
Perform light housekeeping tasks related to participant care (laundry, meal preparation, cleaning participant areas)
Assist with meal setup and feeding as needed
Observe and report changes in participant condition, behavior, or environment to the care team
Follow individualized care plans and safety guidelines
Support participants with exercises or activities as directed by therapy staff
Provide companionship and emotional support
Maintain participant confidentiality and respect cultural preferences
Accurately document services provided and report incidents promptly
Follow infection control and universal precautions
Participate in training, team meetings, and required in-services
Education
High School Diploma, GED OR applicable work experience.
Certification from a nursing assistant training program through classroom and supervised practical training totaling at least 75 hours with 16 hours devoted to supervised practical training OR minimum of six months clinical experience.

Maintains current CPR status Maintains current Mandatory Reporter status Completes 12 hours of related in-services per calendar year. Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.Valid Auto insurance.
