Certified Medical Assistant

Job Title: Medical Assistant 2
Location: Safety Harbor, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Medical Assistant 2 to join our team and serve as the first point of contact in patient care. This position involves both administrative and clinical responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Discuss symptoms with patients and document medical history

• Obtain and record vital signs

• Administer medications and vaccines (as permitted by certification)

• Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens

• Conduct diagnostic screening tests

• Sterilize and clean medical equipment

• Maintain examination rooms and ensure proper supplies

• Accurately enter patient information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system

• Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers

• Deliver patient care within the scope allowed by certification

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant school/training program or
  Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or
  5+ years of relevant experience with provider approval

• Current CPR certification

• Must participate in the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy experience

• Experience with administering medications and vaccines

• 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant

• Familiarity with value-based care models, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS patient experience metrics

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (must pass a proficiency test)
