Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is a 122-bed, general acute care community hospital located in Torrington, Connecticut, that serves as a regional health care resource for the 100,000 residents of Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut. The Manager of Nursing Professional Development (NPD) and Practice is an NPD specialist responsible for functioning within the context and framework of the Nursing Professional Development, Scope and Standards practice.

This position has accountability for the daily operations of human resource management and the development and facilitation of competency management, clinical nursing education, professional role development, policy standardization, collaborative partnerships, scientific inquiry, transition to practice and hiring/onboarding/orientation of new Hartford HealthCare colleagues. The manager assists the NPD director to ensure this educational framework is in place and maintains responsibility for fiscal and budgetary matters.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree Required, Doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 Years of relevant experience in clinical practice.
  • At least 2 years of NPD practitioner experience.
  • At least 3 years of progressive leadership required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse from the CT DPH obtained prior to hire date.
  • NPD Specialty Certification within six months required
  • BLS required
  • Clinical Specialty Certification preferred.
