Experience:

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

12 months of Telemetry Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license (required for submission).

This role may require floating to additional units and locations

Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >80 miles from facility to be submitted.

Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Float Pool - Bed Management

Strong Med Surg experience - min 2 years; Cardiac experience, able to start IVs, dressing changes, and central line care;

Willing and able to float to all units listed in job description; Experience with min 1.4 patient ratios.

General job duties. Types of procedures required.

Experience with MS and Tele/Stepdown patients. Will float between all MS units and the progressive care unit.

2SE - Cardiac Telemetry; post cath patients, titrate intravenous cardiac medications; 3SE - Ortho/Joint; administer meds, assess, monitor and care for patients;

4SE - Observation unit; patients with chest pains, abdominal pains, hysterectomies, knee scopes, appy's, etc. Infusion patients that need blood or antibiotics twice a day. High patient turnover with average 2 admits and 10 discharges in 12 hours. Currently being used as our COVID unit; 4NW - General Surgical/Medical; post surgical care, administration of meds, monitoring, and wound care;

4NE - Stroke/Neuro; Assess, plan & implement care and treatment; 7E - Oncology/Medical; Assess, plan & implement care and treatment; 1NW - ICU/Medical/Surgical/Observation beds; located near the ED an newly opened medical adaptable unit

Care for overflow patients in nontraditional areas such as the ED and PACU; currently use theses spaces as overflow. When needed float staff are able to attend to medical/surgical patients until a bed is available on a traditional unit.

Every other weekend, 2 of the next three holidays.

Floating to other units/departments.

To all MS and cardiac tele/stepdown units as well as overflow areas (ED and PACU) to care for patients until a bed is available.

Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.

2SE: 24 beds, 1:4 ratio; 3SE: 22 beds, 1:4/5 ratio; 4SE: 24 beds, 1:5 ratio;

4NW: 29 beds, 1:5 ratio; 4NE: 21 beds; 1:5 ratio; 7E: 18 beds; 1:5 ratio

1NW: 14 beds; acuity adaptable but anticipate a 1:5 ratio unless step down patients

Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Usually will have 2-3 12 shifts with a preceptor. Also will get classroom training for the charting system also.

7 days maximum time off

1 reference from last 12 months (Charge/Lead reference type) - required for submission

1 reference from last 3 years (Any reference type) - required for submission

Driver's license required for submission
