MICU - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

9 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

3 months of experience with Meditech is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required for submission).

This role will require floating to multiple units

Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Additional Details:

Must have at least 9 months of same unit experience in the past 12 months, no exceptions.

& : All nursing shift are twelve hours from 7 to 7; every other weekend. Holiday requirements

/: Hourly rounding, bedside hand-off reporting, completion of My Care Board during hand-off report; use of AIDET with a focus on compassionate connected care. Must be willing to care for COVID-19 patients, ICU experience, Positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, desire for excellence, self-motivated, good communication and people skills, ability to work in a diverse environment. Ventilator management, critical care drip knowledge, thorough and accurate assessment skills, and proficient knowledge with cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems, and Don and Doff of PPE.

// : Intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain placement and management, IABP management, continual renal replacement therapy (CRRT), proning of patients.

: Ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, Balloon pumps, ventriculostomy drains, glucometers. Use of iMobile phones and technology by all staff in the hospital. PPE- includes mask, face shields, goggles, PAPRs and hoods for our COVID-19 patients.

: Meditech using EBCD (Evidence Based Clinical Documentation)

: Floating policy: Nursing staff will float to other Medical-Surgical Units in the hospital as needed with priority focus on pulling to Intensive Care Units.

10 days maximum time off

1 reference from last 12 months (Charge/Lead reference type) - required for submission

Drivers license required

Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support)

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course)

NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
