Director of Nursing Jobs in Tennessee
Plan, organize, and oversee all nursing activities. Directors of nursing supervise and evaluate all nursing employees to ensure that high standards of care are met in accordance with internal protocols as well as state, local, and federal regulations. They also review and approve the institution’s nursing policies, create long- and short-term departmental goals, maintain patient records, and prepare budget plans.
Because directors of nursing report regularly to higher-level management and work closely with fellow leadership staff, they must have effective communication and collaboration skills. They also need to be proficient in preparing reports and facilitating meetings.
