Assistant Unit Manager (LPN)
A respected long-term care and rehabilitation center in the Southern Tier region of New York is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our leadership team as an Assistant Unit Manager. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a motivated nursing professional with strong clinical judgment, leadership ability, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Position Overview:
The Assistant Unit Manager supports the daily clinical operations of the nursing department and works closely with unit leadership to ensure quality resident care and compliance with all applicable regulations and facility policies. This role assists in coordinating nursing services, supervising support staff, and promoting a positive and compassionate environment for residents and team members alike.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the oversight and coordination of day-to-day nursing unit functions
Monitor resident conditions and document health information accurately
Administer medications, treatments, and physician-ordered care as required
Assist with admissions and gathering necessary resident information
Observe and report changes in residents physical or mental condition
Provide wound care and other nursing treatments when needed
Encourage resident comfort, dignity, and personal hygiene assistance
Supervise and guide CNAs and other nursing support staff as assigned
Maintain compliance with facility procedures, standards, and state regulations
Track residents nutritional intake, output, and vital signs
Qualifications:
Active LPN license in good standing
Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Basic computer proficiency preferred
