House Supervisor RN at Providence Portland Medical Center is a per diem time position working during weekdays and weekends on a night shift.
The Hospital Supervisor coordinates the general operation of the Department of Nursing and provides administrative coverage for Providence Portland Medical Center and those departments operating on a 24-hour basis when senior administrative personnel are not present.
The Hospital Supervisor acts as a mentor and role model for the nursing staff on his/her shift by supporting and assisting the staff in development of problem-solving assertiveness and leadership skills. The Hospital Supervisor also works in collaboration with the Nurse Manager and Staffing department in assisting with staffing and in crisis situations, as appropriate, supports the Nurse Manager and Charge Nurse in coordination and assignment of the nursing staff. The Hospital Supervisor initiates the disaster preparedness plan if needed in collaboration with the Manager of Emergency Preparedness. Having the ability to communicate effectively, function in crisis and urgent situations and to follow-up with department managers and staff are key skills required for this position.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Upon hire: Oregon Registered Nurse License
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 1 year Charge Nurse or leadership experience and demonstrated leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Upon hire: National Certification in med-surg or related nursing area
