Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Podiatry

This LPN/CMA will support our Podiatry Team (RNs, Physicians, and other providers). You will provide direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Assist with initial patient assessments for those with conditions specific to podiatry or orthopedics, including measuring vital signs and taking medical histories.
- Assisting with Procedures : Support orthopedic and podiatric procedures by preparing sterile instruments, assisting with patient positioning, and providing necessary supplies during surgeries or treatments.
- Wound Care and Cast Application: Manage and care for wounds, including dressing changes and infection control, and assist with the application and removal of casts and splints.
- Orthopedic Device Management: Assist with the fitting and adjustment of orthopedic devices such as braces, prosthetics, and orthotics, ensuring proper use and comfort for the patient.
- Joint Injection Assistance: Support physicians with joint injections and aspiration procedures by preparing necessary supplies, assisting with patient positioning, and providing post-procedure care instructions.
- Patient Mobility Aids: Assist patients with the use of mobility aids like crutches, walkers, or wheelchairs, ensuring they understand proper use and techniques to prevent further injury.
THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR A $2500 SIGN ON BONUS!
This position will work the following:
- 32 hours/week
- No Weekends
- 8 Hour Shifts
- Day Shift: 8:00AM - 5:00PM
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months.
